The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses is a nonprofit organization dedicated to representing nurses all over the world. The mission of this organization is to provide critically ill-patients with the acute care, and do so by providing critical care nurses with the most current information in the medical field. They feel a responsibility to provide critically ill-patients with the most acute care, and do so by providing the most current information in the medical field.

The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses is a great resource for nurses in the field, and those looking to start their career in the field, with it’s in-depth look into the role of critical care nurses and clinical nurse leaders.

Clinical Nurse Leaders are advanced generalists who need to know a wide range of information, and the Clinical Nurse Leader Association (CNLA) is a network that promotes CNLs to interact with each other by collaborating and sharing information. By doing so, the CNLA is able to promote safe, quality outcomes for patients.

This association is a valuable resource not only for those looking to get into the field, but for those already in it who are looking to advance to positions like Nurse Educators or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA).

Find a CNL Program

What education level is required to be a CNL?

You will need at least a MSN with a concentration in Clinical Nurse Leadership or a similar program. This is because a CNL needs to be a resource for their nursing team, and the MSN assures that a nurse is clinically competent to do that.  There are also Post-Master’s Certificate programs that will prepare any nurse already carrying an MSN degree for the CNL exam.
